Here are some helpful tips on viewing the information displayed in the settlement report.
Purpose of the Settlement Report
The purpose of the settlement report is to provide a detailed breakdown of the funds scheduled to be transferred to your bank account. The payment method of ACH versus card can be found in column F and the shopper's name can be located in column Q. This report includes essential information such as the total payment amount, applicable technology fee, and the net settlement amount. The net settlement amount, in column N, represents the final sum that will be deposited into your bank account after deducting the technology fee.
Settlement Report Columns explained
Within the settlement there are several important columns containing data to be aware of that will help you with reconciliation.
Merchant Detail Columns
- Column B - Transaction ID
- Column C - Transaction Type whether a payment, refund, partial refund, or funds transfer
- Please note that refunds, partial refunds, and funds transfers (chargeback netting) will appear as a negative amount at the bottom of the Daily Settlement Report
- Column D - Merchant Reference Number or Merchant ID
Payment Detail Columns
- Column F - Payment Method, whether card or ACH
- Column G - Card brand/Card Network i.e. Visa, Mastercard, AmEx, or Discover
- Column K - Subtotal i.e. the amount requested for payment
- Column L - Total Amount, which is the amount requested for payment + technology fee
- Column M - Technology Fee, or, the fee that is applied by the payment requestor
- Column N - Net Settlement Amount, in other words, the amount that has been funded to the Sub-Merchant
Shopper Detail Columns
- Columns Q - Shopper Name
- Column R - Meta Account, or, the Shopper's account number
- Column S - Meta Policy Number, the Shopper's policy number
- Column T - Meta Invoice Number, the Shopper's invoice number
- Column U - Meta Other, the "Other" identifier that a shopper might choose during the checkout process (an "Other" identifier that isn't the Account, Policy, or Invoice number)
- Column X - Billing Address Line 1
- Column Y - Billing Address Line 2
- Column Z - Billing Country
- Column AA - Billing State
- Column AB - Billing City
- Column AC - Billing Postal Code, Zip Code
